What is this practice?

Write the number the short hand points to in the box below each clock.

Why this level

Step: Step 3 · Write & ReadAround age 6 and up (guide)

Only times on the hour appear. The long hand is always on 12, so the answer comes from the short hand alone.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Following the short hand with a finger keeps the two hands from being confused.
  • Comparing it with a real clock at home makes it stick.
