The long hand is always on 6. Write which half-hour each clock shows in the box below it.

The long hand is fixed on 6 on every clock. Fixing it means only the short hand has to be read, so “half past” can be learned as a single rule.
Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.
The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.
For grown-ups
- Reading it aloud as “half past three” while writing makes the rule clear.
- Getting it wrong is fine — count round the clock face again together.
