What is this practice?
A single path with no branches folds back across the sheet in 5 rows. Go all the way to the end without lifting the hand.
Why this level
Step: Step 3 · Write & Read・Around age 6 and up (guide)
The path is 9mm wide with 12 turnbacks. Only about one pencil line of clearance. A sheet for the stage of looking ahead while the hand moves. The difficulty here is not the width but keeping going through 12 turnbacks. More rows makes one path longer, and deciding when to turn the paper is up to the child.
Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.
The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.
For grown-ups
- If the line breaks, starting again from the break is fine.
- Let your child know it is fine to turn the paper at a turnback.
- It does not have to be finished in one go.
