What is this practice?

Follow a path that rises and falls. There is nowhere to stop, so the direction changes while the hand keeps moving. 5 paths on the sheet.

Why this level

Step: Step 3 · Write & ReadAround age 6 and up (guide)

The path is 16mm wide and the waves are 11mm high. Just right for a pencil or colored pencil. A moment of inattention and it touches the wall. Higher waves need a bigger turn of the wrist; lower ones make the movement small and quick.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • The faster the hand moves, the more it hits the walls. Let your child know that slow is fine.
  • Moving the whole arm, not just the wrist, is fine.
  • There is no need to do them all.
