What is this practice?
The same 5 animals appear top and bottom, but they are drawn differently. Join each animal to the same animal.
Why this level
Step: Step 2 · Trace・Around ages 4–5 (guide)
On a “find the identical picture” sheet the shapes match exactly, so comparing them solves it. Here the top and bottom are drawn differently (side view above, front view below). Recognising the same animal despite a different shape is a step harder. The order is shuffled too, so joining straight down does not work.
Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.
The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.
For grown-ups
- Ears, tails and markings stay the same however the angle changes — those give it away.
- Saying “what is this?” aloud while working turns it into speaking practice too.
