What is this practice?
3 pictures on the left and 3 words on the right. Join each pair with a line. The words are in Japanese hiragana.
Why this level
Step: Step 2 · Trace・Around ages 4–5 (guide)
The words on the right are deliberately out of order — if they lined up top to bottom there would be no question to answer. The pictures are in color, but the outlines are thick enough that the shapes still read in black and white. No picture and no word appears twice on a sheet, so there is exactly one solution.
Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.
The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese. Words on this sheet are in Japanese.
For grown-ups
- If the words cannot be read yet, read them aloud. The pictures are enough to choose by.
- A wobbly line is fine.
- There is a Traditional Chinese version too — doing both adds more words.
