What is this practice?

Circle the one of the 5 pictures on the right that matches the one in the box on the left. 4 questions on the sheet.

Why this level

Step: Step 3 · Write & ReadAround age 6 and up (guide)

The 5 choices deliberately include lookalikes (bear, pig, dog). It cannot be settled at a glance, so they have to be compared one by one.Every question has exactly one answer.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Pointing instead of circling is fine.
  • Saying the names aloud turns it into vocabulary practice too.
  • When unsure, compare each one against the picture on the left.
