What is this practice?
Pictures are scattered all over the sheet. Find the three shown at the top and count how many there are of each.
Why this level
Step: Step 2 · Trace・Around ages 4–5 (guide)
The pictures are not lined up. They differ in size and sit wherever they fall. On a sheet with one picture per square, scanning left to right prevents missed items; here the child has to decide the order of looking. There are 17 kinds of picture and only three of them are counted.
Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.
The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.
For grown-ups
- Marking each one found with a pencil prevents counting the same picture twice.
- There is no need to count all three at once — take one at a time.
- The answers are in the note for grown-ups.
