Why this level
Step: Step 3 · Write & Read・Around age 6 and up (guide)
The close-up spot differs per picture. If every crop were the same body part, they would all look alike. Similar pictures are never mixed on one sheet. The right column is shuffled, so drawing straight across does not work.
Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.
The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.
For grown-ups
- Ask “what is this a piece of?”
- Patterns and the direction of lines are the clues.
- If unsure, cover the right-hand pictures and compare.
