What is this practice?

Zhuyin symbols are mixed across a 5×5 grid. Circle every “ㄊ”, the one shown at the top left.

Why this level

Step: Step 2 · TraceAround ages 4–5 (guide)

The distractors are ㄋ, ㄉ, ㄌ, all similar in shape to “ㄊ”. Mixing in unrelated shapes would give no practice at telling them apart, so only the confusable ones are used. The grid is 5×5 with 9 answers. Tracing sheets build writing; this one builds recognition.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Point to the symbol at the top left and say “find the ones like this”.
  • Working left to right, one row at a time, reduces misses.
  • When finished, try counting how many there were.
