What is this practice?

A whole sheet for just the zhuyin symbol “ㄈ”. There are 4 rows; on each, trace two faint symbols then write two more.

Why this level

Step: Step 2 · Trace・Around ages 4–5 (guide)

Zhuyin (bopomofo) is the first writing system children in Taiwan learn, and there are 37 symbols. The boxes are 39.5mm, the same as on the hiragana sheets, so a child starting from either language writes at the same size. Which symbols give trouble differs from child to child, so each one gets its own sheet.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Please don’t correct the shape. Inside the box is enough.
  • There is no need to do all four rows.
