What is this practice?

Why this level

Step: Step 1 · Grip・Around ages 2–3 (guide)

The lines are 74mm apart. Open and close the blades in a steady rhythm while feeding the paper forward and keeping to the line.The cutting lines are solid — a dotted line is hard to follow by eye and the hand stalls.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • An adult must stay beside the child at all times.
  • Straying off the line is fine — carry on to the end.
  • The finished strips can be looped and joined into a paper chain.
