What is this practice?

Out of 12 pictures, find and circle all the people at work. There are 5 of them.

Why this level

Step: Step 3 · Write & ReadAround age 6 and up (guide)

On a “find the matching picture” sheet, matching shapes is enough. This one needs the name and the kind to be known. 5 of the 12 are answers, and a child can count how many they have found. The number of answers is printed on the sheet, so “I found them all” is clear even with no adult there.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Pointing instead of circling is fine.
  • Asking “what is this?” along the way turns it into vocabulary practice too.
  • Counting the finds aloud adds number practice.
