What is this practice?

Letters fill the grid. Starting at the top left, move to the neighbouring square holding the next letter in order, all the way to the bottom right. No diagonal moves.

Why this level

Step: Step 2 · Trace・Around ages 4–5 (guide)

Unlike a maze with walls, the path is invisible without knowing the order. 14 letters are followed. Distractor letters are chosen so that no square has two possible "next letters" beside it, and the single path is verified when the sheet is generated.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Pointing and saying each letter aloud keeps the place.
  • If it goes wrong, step back to the previous letter.
  • Marking the squares already passed helps.
