What is this practice?

There are 2 differences between the top picture and the bottom one. Circle each one you find.

Why this level

Step: Step 1 · GripAround ages 2–3 (guide)

Only 2 differences. This sheet exists to get used to comparing top and bottom at all, and comes before the 3- and 4-difference versions. The grid stays at 12 squares on all three, so only the number of differences changes.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Comparing the first of each, then the second, and so on works well.
  • Circle it on both the top and the bottom.
  • Two is all there is.
