What is this practice?

Remember the order of the five animals 2 at the top, fold to hide them, then cut out the cards and paste them in the same order.

Why this level

Step: Step 2 · TraceAround ages 4–5 (guide)

The example is folded away before the ordering starts, so no clue is left on the page. The cards are printed in a different order, which is checked mechanically. No numbers or arrows hint at the order. Each card is 32mm across.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Count the ten seconds for them.
  • An adult can cut and hand over the cards if needed.
  • Open it up once placed and check together.
