What is this practice?

aeroplane is printed in a light line. Trace over it to complete the picture.

Why this level

Step: Step 1 · GripAround ages 2–3 (guide)

The line is printed at 32% of the original ink. The coloring page of the same picture uses a dark solid line, so the two are clearly different sheets. A light guide also leaves the traced part visible once a pencil line goes over it. The picture is 182mm wide and fills nearly the whole A4. Unlike straight-line pencil sheets, one picture contains turning, doubling back and stopping, so it practises changing direction without repositioning the pencil.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Please don’t correct going outside the line. Getting to the end is the point.
  • Lifting the pencil at a turn is fine.
  • Once traced, it can be colored straight in.
