What is this practice?

A leopard cat scene, with several things on one sheet. The spots are separate areas, so they can be filled in one at a time.

Why this level

Step: Step 3 · Write & ReadAround age 6 and up (guide)

The drawing measures 156×222mm. The outline is black lines of even weight only — no shading, no screen tones — dark enough that a photocopy does not drop them. There is a lot to color, so finishing it over several sittings is fine.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Only darkening the spots makes the pattern stand out.
  • Crayons or colored pencils both work.
  • The colors do not have to match real life.
  • There is no need to color all of it.
