What is this practice?

A the nian beast picture, divided into several areas to color. Body, horns, mane, tail and firecrackers are separate. The firecrackers repeat one shape.

Why this level

Step: Step 2 Β· Trace・Around ages 4–5 (guide)

The drawing measures 182Γ—210mm. The outline is black lines of even weight only β€” no shading, no screen tones β€” dark enough that a photocopy does not drop them.With 1 subjects, it is practice at deciding what goes where while coloring.

Ages are only a guide. Children of the same age can do different things, so each card also shows what a child can already do.

The sheet title and the note for grown-ups are printed in English. Words inside the activity itself stay in Japanese or Traditional Chinese.

For grown-ups

  • Coloring all the firecrackers red shows that they are strung together.
  • Crayons or colored pencils both work.
  • The colors do not have to match real life.
  • There is no need to color all of it.
